Swimming Programs

Our aim at Western Sydney Aquatics is to provide children and the community with access to a quality, professional and inclusive aquatic education service. An overview of our programs can be found below.

Your pathway to faster and efficient swimming

Advanced
Squad

Swimmers who are primarily over the age of 15 years aiming to compete in State Championship finals and qualify for National Age and Open Championships.

Intermediate
Squad

Swimmers will be engaged in learning to train for success, including developing race skills for individual events, relays and Open Water Championships.

Elementary
Squad

Swimmers will be engaged in learning experiences that develop foundation skills in all four strokes, Individual Medley, starts, turns, finishes and diving. The goal of this training squad is to teach swimmers positive training habits and to encourage participation in competitive swimming.

Development
Squad

Swimmers will be engaged in learning experiences that develop their swimming and racing skills in all four strokes, Individual Medley and relays. Swimmers will be encouraged to compete in club, school and targeted swimming meets.

Junior Squad

Junior Squad members will learn swimming efficiency and technique in all four strokes and Individual Medley. Classes will also teach starts and turns for competition. These swimmers will be encouraged to compete at school, club and local swimming meets.

Stingrays

Are swimmers who no longer require the assistance of an in the water coach. These swimmers are learning the basic techniques for proficiency in all four swimming strokes and Individual Medley. Swimmers will also be introduced to correct diving and turning techniques.

Swordfish

Swimmers will be engaged in learning to become an independent swimmer in all four strokes.

Youth Fitness

Swimmers will be engaged in learning experiences that develop foundation skills in all four strokes, Individual Medley, starts, turns, finishes and diving. Swimmers will also learn how to be a participant in a relay team.
